Pacific County has the highest percentage of senior citizens in the State of Washington. Many of them live meager lives on only Social Security benefits which forces them to live below the poverty level. Pacific County is remote and rural. Sooner or later all the seniors must travel to neighboring cities for chemotherapy and other medical treatments not available at home. This often results in over 100 miles round trip. Many are not able to drive or do they even possess reliable transportation. We want to purchase two wheelchair-accessible vans, procure volunteer drivers, and offer safe and comfortable rides to and from medical appointments and procedures. Seniors will not be charged; however donations will be accepted from those able to pay. After two years of donations and volunteer labor this program should be self-supporting.

To purchase two wheelchair-accessible vans, office equipment for scheduling and record-keeping, insurance and fuel for the first two years (depending on the amount of donations). Volunteer drivers will be sought, however at first some may require payment.
