Full Description (Required)
HAWAII FOOD FOREST PROJECT & INNOVATION CENTER BRIEF OVERVIEW VISION Design and plant a Food Forest, on Hawaii Island, utilizing the principles of permaculture in cooperation and harmony with the land and nature. Providing an opportunity for those who choose to cultivate their creativity with all that the land provides, sharing that bounty and teaching others to create sustainability, fostering inter-dependence and well-being. MISSION Through a sense of inter-connectedness, purpose and direction, with all that is, participants will design and build a Sustainable Permaculture Food Forest, and Innovation Center on land yet to be discovered, on Hawaii Big Island (near Waimea, Kohala and/or the Hamakua Coast). FOOD FOREST Forest gardening is a low-maintenance sustainable plant-based food production and permaculture system based on tropical ecosystems, incorporating fruit and nut trees, shrubs, herbs, vines and perennial vegetables which have yields directly useful to humans. Making use of companion planting, these can be intermixed to grow in a succession of layers, to build a woodland habitat. Create a Living Design System, Water Harvesting, Providing New Models of Commerce, Eco-Friendly Housing, Off the Grid technologies, Energy Efficient, Food Security, Animal Systems, Positive Waste Management and Farm Forestry. HAWAII YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS ASSOCIATION Initiative to support and nurture the creative spirit and divine nature of young people who aspire to create sustainability through their natural ability and creativity whether musical, agricultural, artistic, theatrical, cultural, nature, etc. INNOVATION CENTER Sharing knowledge & wisdom, inspiring creativity and teaching entrepreneurial skills to young people and the community, through cooperation with seasoned professionals who will share their talents, skills and knowledge to help inspire and prepare youth for a sustainable, responsible and creative life. Creating Community through a combination of positivity, intelligence, compassion and mindfulness and knowing all good things can manifest.
