Full Description (Required)
Over the past two years I have been providing outreach and awareness that advocates for positive interactions and inclusion of underrepresented communities. My initial desire was to be a part of the solution and advocate for ways of being that support radical inclusion and peaceful ways of interaction that build stronger communities. During this time it became clear that there was a lot of misunderstanding and lack of awareness of our shared humanity.
I felt a call to action to work on the injustice that seemed to be so normal by focusing on Peace and providing outreach and education that includes discussion of those things, thoughts and ideas that take us away from our Shared Humanity and Peace. Over the past year I have been providing Peace Literacy/Advocacy training with partners at Oregon State University, in the community of Ventura County, with an emphasis on children, teens, youth and young adults this training incorporates the model of Peace Literacy as developed by Paul K Chappell. My goal is to continue teaching Peace to children in order to bring about the changes our future demands in order to be brighter and better. I began to see how children needed support dealing with the violence that is swirling around us and the trauma it creates. Our current political climate has set off a ring of bullying and hate in schools across the country. I feel compelled to make a difference by teaching peaceful ways of resolving conflict, how to understand and appreciate difference and share Love with children to make a better world!
This request for funding is to continue doing this work I am so passionate about and grateful to do. I have traveled to other locations out of state to provide training with a minimum of income, I have contacted teachers, educational institutions, and communities that could benefit from the training but often cannot afford to pay for someone to come out and provide the training.
Your review of my request and ability to sponsor my work is greatly appreciated!
