Create a Not-for-profit, "Hands-on-teaching" small business that uses scrap wood found abundant locally to produce log and rustic furniture and other innovative items. Unemployed adults will be hired on a full and part time basis, and will be shown all aspects of operating a business, from obtaining the raw material, to keeping the books, to manufacturing the product, to marketing the finished product. They will be paid minimum wage with the possibility of shares, but this will depend on the product being marketable and sold and of course a profit made. The operation should be self supporting after two years. When successfully completing all or part of this course in small business operation, the worker will get a certificate and another person ready to work and learn will be hired. This will employ and teach approximately fifty people when running at full potential.

First we will need to lease, rent or buy a building. Many empty ones are in the area. Then the equipment needed is fairly simple and specialized. It would consist of power saws, a large band saw, sanding and router equipment. An area for finishing and a showroom would complete the physical structure. Office equipment would be needed as well.
