Full Description (Required)
Background and little history Q'ero people are bloodline descendant of the Inca family. There are many myths and legends surrounding Q'ero due to their spiritual beliefs and deep connection to nature. Around 400 members of Inca family escaped from Cusco when Conquistadores started the extermination of the Royal Inca family. They found safety at high places deep in the Andean mountains at above 4200 masl. During more than 400 years they were living and hiding in caves on the Andean mountains. Nevertheless they preserved the mystical knowledge and wisdom of Inca High Priests (no other way could they survive at such altitudes in such hostile environments). Today they are about 5 communities of around 200-400 each. I'm Peruvian citizen (living temporary in UK) and together with Don Alejandro we represent the Q’ero community of Quico (or Kiku). Q'ero people live in balance and in respect with all in the Cosmos, our Mother Earth or Pachamama, the Sun (Inti) Moon (Killa), Lakes (Mamacocha) the Stars (Pleiades - Mama Kcotto, Sirius-PayaChaska) etc. Q'ero Paqos (Priests or Priestesses) live in close connection with all spirits - mountains, rivers, trees etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Q%27ero https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iFepjd9gMI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5JDivQ1o1A http://www.ciberandes.com/inicio/news/article/mi-experiencia-con-la-comunidad-Q’ero.html Today Situation with Q’ero community • At such altitudes Q’ero cultivate only potatoes and farming of llamas and alpacas. Few times a year they go to places near the jungle to cultivate corn and vegetables. Fully dependant of the climatic zones and it s weather. • 30 years ago a Danish priest decided to live in Quico and with help of his government donated a motor to generate electricity that worked near a waterfall. Today it is old and it doesn’t work. 2014 - After many years of communal work they finished a road between Quico and main highway - Cusco - Madre de Dios. • Q’ero are well known because they maintained a lot of Andean indigenous tradition and the Instituto Nacional de Cultura (INC) declared them as “cultural patrimony of Peru. Q’ero were the first indigenous people who received that acknowledgement in Peru and they are awaiting a similar form of recognition from the UNESCO. Too much talk and burocracy but little is being made in practical deeds to help them. • Few Christian churches entered the community and splitted the Q’ero people dividing them. Theirs tradition and spiritual knowledge and wisdom is in danger. Young people - under the influence of external forces - are not interested in continuing their ancient traditions • Individual Q’ero Paqos or Shamans travel to Europe or USA for healing people and to perform ceremonies to heal Mother Earth in such places. They teach and carry on beautiful and powerful ceremonies for peace in this Planet. They are well known and respected by theirs powerful spiritual and healing effectiveness. Q'eros use to get very little in return and they don’t care much as they are very conscious of theirs commitment to Mother Earth and to our brothers and sisters in necessity. This is a ground for subtle use of theirs Shamanic abilities and knowledge - people use them for own purposes and self empowerment. • Q’ero Paqos very often make ceremonies in their communities for peace and the betterment of all humanity in a selfless, anonymous tireless manner. Because of modern living Q’eros travel to Cusco looking for jobs and sometimes are splitted and don’t have a common place where to stay, suffering hunger and the lack of shelter. The objective of this project is • To buy a piece of Land - outside and near Cusco - where the Q'ero community can cultivate and sow potatoes, vegetables and animals for their living and so making easy theirs life. • To restore in Quico the old motor for generating electricity or buy a new one. To buy a truck - not necessary new - for them to bring products from Cusco, as today they bring on shoulders or need to pay huge sums - for them - to transport being this a very painful process. • To construct few houses where Q’eros can live (we will construct ourselves), rest from their journeys to Cusco, with minimal utilities. A place or school to teach, share and learn to preserve and maintain Q’eros spiritual and healing knowledge and wisdom. • To construct - ourselves - a cultural center where young Q’ero people could find a suitable place for theirs interaction and so keeping them away from the brainwashing of the "divide and conquer" philosophy from external forces. • To teach and share - free of charge - with non-Q’ero people including tourists the wisdom and knowledge of medicinal plants, our spiritual relationship to the cosmos - for example the relationship of Pleiades with seasonal time to cultivate the land - one of the origins of famous celebration called Inti Raymi. • Integrate and develop Q’eros spiritual knowledge in the new era that is enfolding today by showing by example the results of living in AYNI or in reciprocity, balance and harmony with the Earth, with nature and with each other. • To share a new way of living and show by example what it means to live according to the spiritual Inca tradition i.e. to see the divine in everything - a plant, a rock, a river, a tree, an animal and indeed in every human being. To cultivate the spiritual Inca tradition of treating to everything and everyone with respect and reverence. • To create a free of charge Spiritual center open to the public - including tourists - to make ceremonies for healing our mother earth, where to pray for peace on this Planet and to heal anyone in need. • To construct - by ourselves - humble temples dedicated to the Sun, Moon, Mother Earth and the Stars according to ancient Inca cultural and spiritual knowledge. And recreate ceremonies accordingly.
Funding Needed
$100k-$500k
Funding Purpose
• To buy Land for cultivation of basic products as potatoes, vegetables and to have some animals. Where all Q’ero will find shelter, some food and a place of reunion and rest. • To construct in this land - by ourselves - few houses for Q’ero people where they can rest, commune and share experiences. A cultural and spiritual center to unite all Q’ero people in Cusco. • To construct - by ourselves - some temples to Mother Earth, father Sun, Mother Moon, Pleiades and Sirius. • To construct by ourselves a cultural and healing Center to heal anyone including tourists, free of charge. A place to make ceremonies dedicates to peace in this Planet, to heal Mother Earth and to dedicate offerings to the cosmos and Stars. • To bring awareness of such humble, honest people that even in the worst conditions of living in caves and today living in places where non-civilized humans might dare to live; STILL they feel compassion for Mother Earth and our brothers and sisters, helping anyone to restore mental, emotional and spiritual health. • Time to finally bring justice to Q’ero - Inca descendants - after centuries of exploitation, suffering and discrimination. In few words to bring the INKARRI to this Planet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inkarri) From our hearts to yours Jorge and Don Alejandro
