Full Description (Required)
My plan is to start a foundation that will bridge the financial gaps between city funding, animal rescue groups, and pet owners. Here in Tallahassee, roughly 15,000 pets are put to their death because there are more pets than there are homes available. However, a large funding source that provided funds for mass spay and neuter surgeries would significantly decrease this number and save city tax dollars. My project would be set up in the form of a voucher program for those with transportation and a hands-on assistance program for those without transportation. My goal is for Tallahassee and eventually the Florida Panhandle to be a no-kill community, following suit of the many larger cities in the US who have already done so. With 14 years animal rescue work and a husband with financial know-how I know we could make this a reality.
Funding Purpose
To develop a foundation that would fund spay and neuter assistance to the city, animal shelters, animal rescue groups, and individual pet owners and care takers.
